The character John D. Constantine (Keanu Reeves), from the movie Constantine was based from DC/Verigo's Hellblazer. He was originally a Blonde British magus in the Hellblazer series, in the movie though, he's a dark haired American, living in L.A.

One similarity is that both of them are chain-smokers (with the Constantine from Hellblazer preffering Silk Cuts above all else) and both of them are diagnosed with Lug Cancer in the advance stage.
